Frame is great, stock parts are bad

I bought two Electra’s Cruisers for me (7D tall model) and my wife (7D lux) one year ago and going to share my experience.

Bikes came in cardboard boxes. Assembly (Taiwan) of internal parts was awful: not tight, lubricated really badly. Wheel cameras were the cheapest, one camera had a hole in it. Rims were sharp from inside, not isolated well, that lead to several huge unfixable camera holes.

Regarding stock parts (on my 7D tall model): they are the cheapest (CRAP), it looks like I have bought bike for 50$. I was forced to buy normal parts after several weeks riding it.

The seatpost bended (despite I’m not heavy and ride carefully). The brakes didn’t do their job! The grips on handlebar were designed for small hands, so, It was absolutely inconvenient for my more-than-average palms (remember, I’ve bought tall model for tall people). Tires are the cheapest as well: riding European city bicycle lanes I got punctures every week! I think it’s possible to puncture those tires with cat’s mustache.

Regarding my wife’s bike (Cruiser 7D Lux): it came with the frame defect: weld crack. The seller replaced the bike but overall it was very annoying experience, especially a quest with finding the source of cracking sound.

Conclusion: after replacing of almost all stock parts I’ve got an outstanding bike. The frame is a masterpiece. It looks and works great. If you are going to buy such bike, I would recommend not using it immediately but selling all stock parts or throwing them away into garbage bin or into Electra head office window.

One more thing: I bought Electra rack for my bike and it was a mistake. The rack is absolutely inconvenient and ugly, so I sold it.
